JobTetris came to me through a recommendation, just as they were gearing up for their next stage of growth. They’d built a genuinely useful platform for recruiters, but their website wasn’t doing it justice. The homepage was trying to talk to everyone at once — recruiters, internal teams, jobseekers — and in the process, it wasn’t landing with the audience that mattered most.
Recruitment is one of those industries where clarity can make or break a product. I’d worked in it before, so I knew how little patience recruiters have for confusing tech. If they don’t understand what something does for them in the first few seconds, they move on. The JobTetris homepage had good information, but it was buried in a sea of technical language and mixed messages.
Brendan, the founder, and I sat down to unpack it. We talked through what the product actually does, where it fits in a recruiter’s workflow, and what value it delivers that other tools don’t. Once we had that, it became obvious that the existing copy was focused on features instead of benefits. Recruiters didn’t need another product that sounded clever; they needed one that could save them time, fill jobs faster, and make their process feel less chaotic.
We kept the scope simple — one page, one story. I rebuilt the homepage from the ground up, re-ordering the flow so it mirrored how a recruiter thinks as they scroll. The copy leads with value and momentum rather than explanation. We removed distractions that spoke to jobseekers and employers, and instead built a message that made recruiters feel like it was written for them. The tone became sharper and more confident, but still approachable enough for a startup finding its voice.
The new homepage finally tells the right story to the right people. It’s given the JobTetris team a clearer way to talk about what they do — not just online, but in sales conversations, investor decks and everything else they’re building as they grow. And while there aren’t hard numbers to share, it’s obvious from the outside that the business is gaining traction. That first rewrite gave them the clarity to build on.
"Alice helped us rewrite our homepage to speak more clearly to recruiters — our core audience. She worked closely with us to simplify the messaging and bring more clarity to what JobTetris does. The end result felt clear, confident and much more aligned with how we want to show up. We’ve already noticed a shift in how people are engaging with the site." – Brendan Temble, JobTetris
